Dr. Tziporah Mandel DMD
Dr. Mandel received her BA in liberal arts from the College of Mount Saint Vincent. She then worked as a research study assistant in the innovative breast cancer research division at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. She graduated with a degree in Dentistry from Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in 2013. Her desire to increase her knowledge of medically compromised patients, surgery and general dentistry led her to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. There she completed her general practice residency while also assisting with local elderly residents’ care. Dr. Mandel has spent the majority of her professional career practicing in home dentistry- treating the elderly and immobile, bringing patience, warmth and compassion to each and every visit, while putting her patients and their families at ease.
Dr. Heather Chiurazzi DDS
Dr. Chiurazzi received her BA in Philosophy and Ethnic Studies from the University of California, San Diego. She then worked as a legal researcher investigating carcinogenic toxin exposures on behalf of clients and communities. After seeing a unique opportunity to address unmet medical needs in the field of dentistry, Dr. Chiurazzi went on to earn her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from UCLA School of Dentistry. She then completed post-graduate training through the GPR/Hospital Dentistry Residency at UCLA School of Dentistry and UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center. Here, she focused on working with patients with special needs, patients with complex medical needs, and dental oncology. Outside of Gentle Mobile Dental, Dr. Chiurazzi works at UCLA School of Dentistry in the Division of Advanced Prosthodontics teaching fixed and removable prosthodontics. Dr. Chiurazzi is passionate about providing dental care and education to all her patients, especially those who have had difficulties obtaining care in the conventional office setting.
Dr. Jonina Capino DDS
Dr. Capino was exposed to dentistry at the young age of 3, being babysat after school at her mother’s dental offices. At the age of 14, she found her passion for dentistry while volunteering at her autistic siblings’ special education schools. She noted that her siblings’ classmates were unable to find dental care due to their disability and/or medical condition(s), which inspired her to bridge the gap between the dental and disabled communities. She earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from University of California, Los Angeles in 2022, where she founded and served as president of the UCLA Special Patient Care Club. Her mission in creating this club was to increase interactions between future dental care providers and self-advocates in hopes of encouraging more dentists to provide care for this underserved demographic. After dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey, CA, which enabled her to focus on the disabled community. Dr. Capino is an active advocate for those with disabilities and is dedicated to ensuring that her patients are provided with the utmost quality of care.
